Huami – Xiaomi’s sub-brand, has just launched a new fitness tracker, called the Amazfit Band 5. This is considered an upgraded version of the Mi Band 5 that Xiaomi introduced in June. , keep the design but added many new features, especially the SpO2 sensor to measure the concentration of oxygen in the blood.
Amazfit Band 5 owns a 1.1-inch AMOLED touchscreen, similar to Mi Band 5. Besides 45 pre-installed watch faces, users can also choose a photo and set it as a watch face as desired. .
The device supports 11 different sports training modes, including outdoor cycling, indoor cycling, running, swimming, jumping rope … Not only that, it also has BioTracker 2 PPG sensor to 24/7 continuous heart rate monitoring, and provide warnings when heart rate rises.
More importantly, the Amazfit Band 5 is equipped with a SpO2 sensor (OxygenBeats) to measure the oxygen saturation in the blood – a feature that the Mi Band 5 does not have. In addition, it also enables sleep quality monitoring, stress monitoring and supports PAI health assessment system.
One of the other interesting features of the Amazfit Band 5 is the ability to track the menstrual cycle and calculate the date of ovulation for women. On the other hand, it also integrates the Alexa virtual assistant, allowing users to set reminders and control smart devices in the home remotely.
The Amazfit Band 5 comes with a 125mAh battery, which can provide 2 weeks of battery life after each full charge if used in normal mode, lasting up to 25 days in power saving mode.
As expected, the Amazfit Band 5 will officially be on shelves in the US on September 21, with a retail price of 45 USD (about 1 million VND). Currently, it is not clear whether this product will be sold in other markets or not.
