As announced in the summer of 2019, Marvel Studios will produce an animated series called What If…?, In phase 4 of the MCU and broadcast exclusively on Disney +. This series will focus on crazy stories and conspiracy theories that are not true in the vast cinematic universe of Marvel. In other words, it will draw other parallel realities, with unprecedented events in the main reality that audiences have been so accustomed to on the big screen for more than a decade.
At the Investor Day event in mid-December, Marvel Studios finally revealed the first trailer for What If… ?, thereby opening up a lot of new stories such as: What will happen If Peggy Carter was injected with super soldier serum instead of Steve Rogers? Or what will the Guardians of the Galaxy team be like if Black Panther replaces Star-Lord? All are extremely curious and also extremely curious stories that fans can hardly ignore.
The first trailer of What If…? was revealed by Marvel Studios in mid-December.
From the trailer above, combined with much of the previously confirmed information, let’s go through certain facts, or almost possible in What If…? Please.
What if Peggy Carter was injected with a super soldier serum?
One of the broadcasts of What If…? will definitely exploit this unique theme. And most of the time above the trailer is also about the fact that Peggy Carter was chosen to test the Super Soldier Serum. The difference is that after strengthening herself, Peggy will become Captain Britain instead of Captain America, and head straight to the battlefield with Howling Commandos.
Steve Rogers “dressed up” extremely well to become Iron Man
Although Peggy is the one who occupies a lot of the spotlight in this trailer, we will also see Steve Rogers in the cool iron armor as Iron Man in at least one episode. The reason why it is like that, perhaps we have to wait until the drama airs to fully understand.
What if T’Challa becomes Star-Lord in Guardians of the Galaxy?
Right at the beginning of the trailer, we saw the Black Panther T’Challa take off the familiar helmet of Peter Quill from the Guardians of the Galaxy. Subsequent scenes, such as when he unexpectedly catches a spaceship as a child, or his reunion with Yondu Udonta, continues to show that he is truly the Star-Lord. The question is whether his father is the Ego as in the original movie? Will the members of Guardians of the Galaxy be replaced? Where is Peter Quill in this reality, or is he not? All is still a mystery, and only one thing is certain: T’Challa will still be meeting Howard the Duck!
Winter Soldier confronts the zombie version of the Avengers
In the trailer above, we also saw a scene from Bucky Barnes fighting Captain America – but now a walking corpse. The Winter Soldier dressed in the same outfit as in Avengers: Infinity War, so it is very likely that a zombie pandemic occurred during this time in Wakanda, or around the world. The question is, apart from Steve Rogers, are there any other Avengers members turned into zombies? And what if Thanos pulled troops to Earth to find the right infinity rock at such a complicated time?
What if Doctor Strange was a disciple of Dormammu?
Although the trailer does not reveal too many details, but if compared to the original comic book What If… ?, specifically the 18th chapter, Stephen Strange will most likely play the role of Dormammu’s disciple. The question now is who will hold the stone of time, and if that person is still the ultimate witch of Earth, will Dormammu defend his student when Thanos arrives?
What if Iron Man is stuck on planet Sakaar?
If only based on the cut image from the trailer above, we can hardly confirm whether What If…? Does Tony Stark really bring up the story at Sakaar. However, in an interview with BuzzFeed earlier, Jeff Goldblum – the actor voicing the Grandmaster, once revealed: “A few days ago, I went back to the Disney studios and recorded for the role of Grandmaster in an episode of What If…? This is an animated series about all the characters we all love about Marvel. The episode that I participated in featured the Grandmaster, Iron Man and Korg“.
Loki won the battle with the Avengers in New York?
In the first Avengers movie, Loki was defeated by the first 6 members of the Revenge Squad when he pulled the Chitauri army to invade Earth. But what if this cunning god wins? Will Thanos’ plan to collect infinity stones go any easier? And the fate of the Avengers will be like? The photo above shows Loki marching into the United Nations headquarters with a group of extremely professional bodyguards walking around. The possibility that this guy defeated the Avengers and completed the task that Thanos assigned is entirely possible.
