On the occasion of its 12th anniversary, January 13, in Hanoi, the Association Electronic Sports Vietnamese entertainment (VIRESA) held a ceremony to introduce the whitepaper of e-sports and activities of VIRESA in 2021. On behalf of VIRESA, Mr. Dang Thai Son, Member of the Executive Committee of VIRESA, said in the context of the increasingly developed e-sports as well as SEA Games 31 Coming soon, the publication of the E-Sport White Paper has very practical significance. This is an annual document published by VIRESA, designed to provide important information in the esports field, helping individuals, organizations and businesses to operate effectively and through which contributes best to promoting the development of a professional esports environment in Vietnam.
The first esports whitepaper in Vietnam includes official statistics and a content structure that is representative of the overall performance and status of the entire sports industry. Vietnam electronics as well as updating the latest trends in Vietnam and the world, including a perspective on sports economy, the first manifestation is the digital transformation in sports. The document is a compass that guides, overall analysis of how individual units in the esports ecosystem in Vietnam are operated, contributed by industry experts themselves.
These data are official data collected from the synthesis of VIRESA as well as 50 senior leaders from domestic and foreign businesses; 10,000 surveys from users; domestic and foreign reputable sources. All are appraised by experienced experts and researchers.

Starting from 2021, VIRESA will host two annual tournament systems, the National Electronic Sports Championship (VEC) and the National Student Electronic Sports Tournament (UEC) with The League: Wild Rift, Mobile Legends: Bang Bang, PUBG Mobile, Mobile League – AOV, Free Fire, League of Legends – LOL, FIFA Online 4, Raid – Crossfire, DOTA 2, PES .
While VEC is a professional tournament system aimed at selecting Vietnamese representatives to compete in international arenas; UEC is a semi-professional and movement tournament model. The official content of the competition in these two tournaments will be selected according to the needs as well as other necessary conditions and will be officially announced by VIRESA soon.
In addition, VIRESA will also step by step consolidate the organization and select a list of suitable recreational sports to supplement and complete the National Entertainment System.
