Launched globally in early September, Galaxy Z Fold2 is the folding phone “following” the previous brother, bringing many improvements in both design and hardware that make everyone looking at it. And just over a week later, Vietnam also officially pre-ordered this product at a price of 50 million dong with expected delivery on September 25.
To know what this product will come with in the box when sold in our country, let’s “unbox” and take a closer look.
The product box is made of a square shape with the letter Z cut in the middle.
Pulling out we can see the main box inside with the shape of an open notebook or possibly a butterfly wing fluttering.
Open the box “treasure”, you will receive warnings on the product screen, such as do not press hard on the screen or front camera area, note that there are no keys, coins or foreign objects. It is located in the middle when the screen is closed, the product is not waterproof / dustproof, does not remove the screen protector and finally the product has magnetic magnetism inside, so be careful not to place vulnerable objects such as credit cards or other medical devices that are implanted in the body.
Complete set of accessories included USB-C cable, headset and charger. Samsung has removed the protective case for this 2nd generation Fold and perhaps this is also a move to reduce plastic waste and protect its environment.
It is understandable that users who use this high-end product want to show off the best look possible and if using a case, that value will decrease. Of course, the reverse also has the number of users who need cases to protect the machine from unnecessary impacts.
The first change that I like most about this Galaxy Z Fold2 is the hinge part. Using the same CAM structure as with Z Flip, this machine can be folded open and held in different positions, not fixed by flat opening or closed as before.
According to the manufacturer, inside the hinge of the Z Fold2 is a layer of “brush” to remove dust particles that get in, protecting the mechanical mechanism of the hinge as well as the internal components of the machine.
Also thanks to this “free-angle” design mechanism, Fold2 is now very mobile, turning the other half of the screen as a kickstand for watching movies or for taking selfies and exposure shots. This idea was first shown on the Z Flip, but with a small screen style, entertainment was still limited, only when the Fold2 came out, the experience really improved.
The next improvement is the Infinity-O sub-screen, which has brought a feeling of overflow than before. With the size now up to 6.2 inches, the upper and lower bezels have been “trimmed” a lot and are more useful for users when they need to manipulate quickly from outside without having to open the big screen. This external screen uses a Super AMOLED panel with a resolution of 2260 x 816 pixels, a display ratio of 25: 9.
Open inside, you will continue to be overwhelmed with the nearly balanced screen when there are no more obnoxious rabbit ears. Using the same 2x Dynamic AMOLED panel as on the Galaxy Note20, this screen offers a 120Hz scan speed with technology that automatically adjusts the scan to match the displayed content, for smooth motion with many different tasks.
Moreover, this screen is also enhanced with an ultra-thin glass (UTG – Ultra Thin Glass) similar to the Galaxy Z Flip which, according to the supplier, will help improve durability and minimize folds on the screen.
We will still see the crease, but it does not affect the experience much because when you use it for a while you will forget it right away, all thanks to the display too eye-catching and impressive.
With this spread out screen area, users can more comfortably multitask, open up to 3 apps at a time.
The back of the Galaxy Z Fold2 has a very similar design to the Galaxy Note20 Ultra launched not long ago.
Even the rear camera cluster is also placed in a rectangular module, the only difference in the Note20 Ultra that has a laser focus system and periscope.
The rear camera cluster of the device includes a 12MP f / 1.8 OIS main camera, a 12MP f / 2.2 super wide-angle camera, a 12MP f / 2.4 OIS telephoto camera (2x optical zoom).
The internal camera with 10MP f / 2.2 resolution can be used as a video call or selfie, with the upper half of the frame for viewing.
Left half to choose different modes as well as quick review of the finished photo.
In addition, we also have another camera in the secondary screen with a resolution of 10MP f / 2.2.
The handheld experience is quite neat, weighing 282g.
Machine when folded up to 16.8mm thickness.
All buttons are placed next to the right, in which the power key is also the place where the fingerprint sensor is located.
In terms of configuration, Galaxy Z Fold2 runs Snapdragon 865+ processor, 12GB RAM and 256GB UFS 3.1 standard internal memory, supports 5G network with two Sub-6 and mmWave bands. The device only has a single physical SIM slot and supports adding e-SIM if users want to expand.
The Galaxy Z Fold2’s battery has a capacity of 4500mAh, 25W fast charging, 11W wireless charging and 4.5W reverse charging feature.
