Perhaps when looking at this list, many readers will feel not too surprised when the familiar names are still at the top. It is worth noting that Demon Slayer (Kimetsu no Yaiba) overcame a lot of heavyweight opponents who remained at # 2, just behind One Piece. Kimetsu no Yaiba is a Japanese manga series by Gotōge Koyoharu. This manga has been serialized in Weekly Shōnen Jump from the February 2016 issue to the May 2020 issue, meaning the age of this work is still young but has achieved great success.

One more notable detail is that the top 1 of this list belongs to One Piece. This is a teenage manga by Oda Eiichiro, serialized in Weekly Shōnen Jump, which first debuted in issue 34 on July 19, 1997. More than 20 years have passed. But One Piece still shows its strong charisma in fans’ hearts.

Since losing to Death Note and Nodame Cantabile in 2006, One Piece has continued to dominate its throne for a long time. Although there have been many manga that have almost surpassed One Piece, such as Attack on Titan and Nanatsu no Taizai, they are both narrowly defeated. Until 2019, the manga Kimetsu no Yaiba was suddenly so popular that on the list of Oricon versions its sales beat the One Piece monument. And until 2020, Kimetsu no Yaiba will still bring many surprises when it comes to beating One Piece in terms of sales. Even in 2020, One Piece is still behind another manga in terms of sales, Kingdom, an epic manga about ancient Chinese history. Kingdom sold 8,251,058 copies, surpassing the number 7,709,667 of One Piece.

But in the end, after all, One Piece remains firmly at the top 1 of our list of the 100 greatest manga of all time.
