The Witcher series broke the Netflix streaming record for first-season viewership, surpassing other popular series Stranger Things and Bojack Horseman.
Geralt of Rivia defeated both the Stranger Things and the Bojack Horseman series.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, more than 76 million people watched the series following the novel in the first four weeks of its release. Naturally, this is due in part to Netflix’s new rules about counting for a “view” – it only takes 2 minutes for a view, instead of 70% of the program as before.
Although many users did not watch the entire series, The Witcher quickly established a loyal fan base. Shortly thereafter, a large number of books were reprinted to serve the needs of readers.
