Recently, US Senator Tom Cotton introduced a new bill aimed at preventing the US from sharing intelligence with countries using Huawei’s 5G network equipment.

Cotton is a politician who has always strongly opposed Huawei. He proposed a little-noticed clause in a defense bill signed last month. The article instructs intelligence agencies to consider the use of cybersecurity infrastructure provided by US rivals, especially Russia and China.
In the past few years, the United States has launched a global campaign against Huawei, which is still considered the “darling” of Beijing in the eyes of US officials. The most intense escalation has been since the US blacklisted Huawei for national security reasons. Soon after that, governments of many countries, mainly allies with the US, such as Australia, New Zealand, Japan and Taiwan, banned Huawei.
