Caps couldn’t win lane against ShowMaker
In the quarterfinals match against Gen.G, many experts said that Caps played completely above Bdd. However, Caps’ opponent in the semifinals last was a real “monster” player in the mid lane called ShowMaker and it was extremely difficult for “little Faker” to win the lane. The fact that ShowMaker handled the matches in the last few games is a lot better than Caps, especially in games 3 and 4.
Also have to compliment the ability of picks and bans DAMWON Gaming when they realized the problem after game 2 failed and improved their picks. In game 3, G2 Esports tried to “trap” DWG when picking Jhin’s head, to drop Twisted Fate But the LCK representative ignored this champion and took Syndra, a card that could play well in any match. G2’s decision at the time was to choose Akali and it harmed them because Caps then lost completely to this assassin.
G2 Esports deliberately released Twisted Fate but DAMWON Gaming did not fall into the trap and chose Syndra
ShowMaker has complete control of the mid lane as he constantly pulls in and pushes Caps out of the minion
In game 4, ShowMaker’s ability to handle the road was also superior and caused Caps to lose completely despite holding a Sylas general. ShowMaker makes great use of his range advantage and the passive ability of Twisted Fate’s E – Shuffling to pull Caps health for free. Remember, without needing Canyon to help out, ShowMaker was able to put Caps low on health and solokill the opponent. When my No. 1 star was “turned off” too early, the familiar gameplay of G2 Esports was completely broken.
Even in game 4, there is no need for the intervention jungle. ShowMaker already solokill Caps
Mikyx was taken by DAMWON Gaming
Besides Caps, Mikyx’s ability to mutate and interfere in the mid lane is one of the bright spots of G2 Esports. However, DAMWON Gaming seems to have caught the player’s movements and extinguished G2 Esports’ hopes of mutating. We can see this very clearly in game 3 when there were at least 2 situations where Mikyx moved with the intention of giving mid lane advantage but was caught.
The first was the move into the green talisman forest in the 9th minute, even before that, Ghost stood for a long time behind the mid lane, until Mikyx started to enter the forest before he moved. Mikyx’s aim is to control the DWG’s blue buff because Syndra desperately needs this. DWG’s ADC probably read this when he dug a control eye into the green buff to check if Mikyx was going that way. As a result, G2 Esports support was found out and lying down afterwards.
Ghost guessed that Mikyx invaded his forest and moved ahead
He even plugged his eyes to check if G2’s support was there or not, Mikyx was too “drunk” to attack Ghost and then lost his life.
Another situation started by Ghost when he caught Mikyx in Dragon Cave at 13th minute. Perkz and Jankos were heading mid lane, maybe they wanted to team up with Mikyx to attack ShowMaker. . However, DWG had read this intention and their bot lane even moved ahead of G2 side, as soon as they saw Mikyx they attacked and broke this guy’s intention to make a mutation.
Mikyx was waiting for her ultimate to return to mid, but was caught before
The “weird” options are ineffective
In game 1, G2 Esports seemed too greedy to have chosen Lucian but still picked Sylas for Caps and pushed this general down to play ADC. Remember that in bot lane, Lucian has a lot of disadvantages with a relatively short range and ability use, DWG’s support is Leona so Perkz is always in a dangerous position. As a result, G2 lost completely in the bot lane when Perkz was led too many soldiers, Mikyx was down 2 kills very early.
G2’s greed led them to pay the price when Lucian bot lane lost quite heavily despite not being knocked out
The other “weird” but unreasonable choice was in Wunder when in game 3 and 4, this guy used the Great Stone for Sion and Ornn. Remember that in the group stage match, Suning’s Bin used Camille, not tanky, when deciding to hold this gem. Camille with great damage can use well the gem points in both Exactly, Overpowering or Magic, meaning the effectiveness of this gem on Steel Ball is extremely high.
However, with Sion and Ornn, the Great Stone is almost useless, it is true that these two generals can activate many different gem points but it has no idea. What these two champions need is the resistance not satisfied by the Great Stone because the spawning rate of the jade spots in the Kien Dinh branch is too low. This caused Wunder to lose the road completely to Nuguri in the toplane and the final hope of G2 Esports was also extinguished.
The Footsteps of Lightning in this situation did not help Ornn defeat the opponent faster, even Wunder was killed back then.
