It is known that this is a graduation project of Phan Hai Ngan with interest in technology, Ngan wishes to be able to apply new technology in combination with art, typically augmented reality books – AR Book. It helps readers have a more enjoyable experience.
“Thanh Giong – AR” not only tells the story of the hero Phu Dong Thien Vuong with images or regular text but in each image is a video clip with vivid sound. The book contributes to encourage all readers to understand the value of the treasure of Vietnamese fairy tales and bring an interesting and engaging interactive experience.

In Vietnam, AR books are growing strongly, but mostly they focus on natural science, animals, adventure stories … there is no virtual reality book about the treasure of fairy tales.
Meanwhile, the treasure of Vietnamese fairy tales has a high cultural value but there are not many story products and projects with good and vivid aesthetic for readers on the market. On the other hand, in the comic book market, Vietnamese fairy tales are gradually being replaced by foreign stories and gradually losing their inherent identity.
With the interest in implementing projects on myths and strong, bright and strong color drawing style, Ngan chose Thanh Giong to be able to develop to his full potential. Saint Giong is the symbol of a hero fighting the foreign invaders during the period of building and defending the country, carrying with him the power of both nature and man, of modernity and rudeness. reconcile and crystallize to form a great power enough to knock down all enemies.
From the above reasons, Ngan is urged to build a project of the breath of history so that not only domestic but also foreign readers will know about Vietnam’s fairy tales and culture. After nearly 3 months, almost forgot to sleep in the project, with the support of a foreign friend, Ngan was born “Thanh Giong” – the first project of illustrating fairy tale books using AR technology. in Viet Nam. Wishing to promote Vietnamese culture, fairy tales and history in a new and more interesting way.
Currently “Thanh Giong” is a free experience on Behance page and Ngan’s portfolio pages, the application only works on Android devices. In the coming time, if financial conditions support, you will also experience “Thanh Giong” on iOS.
