It is known that, before being known by many as a Tiktoker, Tun Pham was a famous vlogger on Facebook and YouTube. So, does switching from one technology platform to another make it difficult for you?
I knew Tiktok in early 2019 and started playing professionally in early 2020. To get used to the transition from making long clips to short clips like on Tiktok, I think it will take a long time. In a clip about 3 minutes long, I freely say many opinions, “show” 5-6 situations, but on Tiktok, I have to shrink it to only 10-15 seconds / clip, cut out 1 situation.
The content must still be complete, easy to understand, and making clips requires much care and no mistakes to attract the audience. Fortunately, my interactions on Tiktok up to now are still high and steady. I can’t even count how many clips million views currently have (laugh).
Producing many million-view clips like that, does Tun Pham have his own formula to create viral clips?
I also consulted, learned that you go ahead to see how they do, how many seconds … From there, I conclude whether a clip has viral or not lies in the content itself. For me, the content of a clip on Tiktok must show three criteria: fast, urgent, and climax. If the clip content is steady, without the highlight, of course it will not attract viewers.
In the 4.0 era like now, people live very urgently, so I think people watch shorter clips rather than long clips. I myself am quite busy, YouTube is not my favorite platform, in my free time I will surf Tiktok to know more trends. As a user, I see Tiktok as a healthy playground and it also opens up new opportunities for me.
Well, I will reveal to everyone Tiktok’s 8s rule: if your first 8s are attractive, hold viewers, your clip will definitely be pushed to the trend and attracted the view. In any area, holding the “rules of the game”, I will live with it.
Sharing more details about the clip content, where did Tun have so many interesting ideas?
I have a separate note for my ideas. It only takes 30 minutes to edit and produce a clip but the idea is always “flowing” inside me, I think throughout, even on the road, going to meet, coffee with friends … My clips often talk about real-life situations, hitting the crowd psychology. Or sometimes, I read content on social media, then connect with my experience to create new content.
The clips on my Tiktok account are talkative and humorous, making the content creation process more difficult and impossible to thicken. And those of you who regularly make transformation clips or slow motion can bring trends from Chinese douyin and come back, don’t take too much time to think about ideas (but this content requires editing effects, attractive sound. – Reporter).
Tiktok is a platform that helps KOLs “swordfish” in the advertising segment, what about Tun Pham?
I’m quite proud of myself as one of the first sought-after by brands. In the past, 1 day I received some advertisements was enough to live because my 1 contract was equal to 2 or 3 months of someone else’s salary. Compared to my peers, I find myself not having to worry financially.
As for the advertising content on Tiktok, although simple, it requires a lot of attention. For example, like on Facebook, the video is not limited to duration, I will list each of the advantages of a water brand, but on Tiktok, within 1 minute, I have to skillfully put in the details for advertising. not being ungrateful but still approved by customers.
High interaction on social networks, a lot of fans, and a lot of favor from brands, does Tun Pham seem to have nothing to worry about?
There was a time when I was stressed because 2 or 3 consecutive uploaded clips had no views, and the interaction decreased. I kept thinking about whether I was running out of ideas or not. In the past, I uploaded a clip every day because I simply wanted people to remember my face; Now, I save 2 days to upload a clip to both keep my mind clear and bring to the audience more quality products.
Every profession has its own tensions and worries. Our job is constantly stressful, people find themselves laughing indifferently, but the brain is always active. The peak of my stress is in 2019. Looking at my friends around everyone is “like the wind”, I just stood still after gaining a name through the Facebook vlogs. At that time, I used to shed tears and wondered if I was really useless. Because I do art, no one wants to be forgotten. And this year 2020, Tiktok is really up.
Besides art plans, does Tun Pham have any other dreams?
I am a quick-talking, flexible person so I like business very much. I practiced selling couple shirts since 8th grade, until grade 11 had an “empire” selling its own watches. However, for the past time, because the work was overloaded, I could not afford the job, so I left the business behind. Actually, I still have my dream of opening a restaurant!
With such a busy schedule, how does Tun arrange time with his family, relationships as well as himself?
I myself have the ability to balance everything. For friends, I often call facetime to ask everyone, save a little time meeting. I am the one who does not work, the busy schedule is still prioritizing the evening for family or for myself. I myself still take time to practice for better health and always stick to the diet I set out.
One day, I divide and do only 2 jobs, not receive a third job. Health is an capital of money. If you work too hard, then go to work with a tired face and full of lamentation, it is not acceptable. I always want myself to be charged with positive energy every day, with a bright smile so that everyone around me can also be happy.
It is said that when you have a good financial background, you will not work. Is Tun in the case?
I am very confident that since 11th grade I have not had to ask for money from my parents. I don’t want to be financially dependent on anyone, and want to finance myself; If they are too poor, they must work more. People asked me why I did not change my Iphone 11 pro max, I said my phone was still in good use, still produced million views clip, so there was no need to spend 20 million for a phone.
When deciding to buy something, I think about 3 days to see if I really need it or not, can I work without it … so spending is also quite economical. As for my parents or friends I am very comfortable, my parents ask for 10 million, ok I give it too. If you need to spend what you need, you will buy it, otherwise, the rest will save you to buy a house later. In the past, watch money was pocket money, advertising money was savings.
I look at adults in my family to know how to live a frugally but that doesn’t mean it’s mean! Some other friends grew up, my parents bought houses for them, applied for jobs, and I wanted to go up by myself, I didn’t want to receive help from relatives. If my parents gave me a car, I wouldn’t like it; I want to find it myself, but if I want a car, I have to save now. In fact, I earn enough to eat, have enough to play, have enough money, the rest I save, I don’t lack anything.
Wow, this is a model Hanoi guy, handsome, talented, able to take care of himself, spend time with his family, know how to make money, think about the distant future. Surely Tun Pham must have many goals in life?
I try to save on my goals, for example how much muscle I have to gain, how much fat to lose over a period of time, except my work goals. I’m not an arbitrary person who likes to do something that I have to plan in advance. Since elementary school, I have set a goal of having a car by the age of 27. Parents always believe and support all their decisions.
I also set a target for my artistic career to shine. I always work hard, learn, and hope that the attention of people on Tiktok or any other social networks will be a stepping stone for me to go deeper on the artistic path.
Thank you for the conversation!
