Samsung recently launched the Samsung W21 5G in the Chinese market. For those who do not know, the W-series is exclusively distributed by Samsung in China. Previously, the W-series was a smartphone “clamshell” with a physical keyboard T9, but equipped with Android operating system and flagship configuration. Since 2019, Samsung has transformed this product line a bit, Samsung W20 launched last year is essentially a renamed version of the Galaxy Fold sold in the Chinese domestic market.
This year is no exception when the Samsung W21 continues to be another variant of the Galaxy Z Fold2. The machine has a little bit of change compared to the “original”, but most of the parameters are kept.
Like the Galaxy Z Fold2, W21 is equipped with 2 screens, including an inner main screen with a size of 7.6 inches, using a flexible 2X Dynamic AMOLED panel, 120Hz refresh rate, and an external secondary screen with size 6.23 inches smaller, using a Super AMOLED panel, long display ratio and 60Hz refresh rate, protected by Gorilla Victus tempered glass, the best at present introduced by Corning.
In terms of performance, Samsung W21 is also equipped with the most powerful Snapdragon 865+ chip, comes with the “max option” memory option of 12GB RAM and 512GB storage. The machine’s battery has a capacity of 4500mAh similar to the Z Fold2, also supports 25W fast charging and 11W wireless charging. In addition, the 12MP main camera cluster and the 10MP dual selfie camera have not changed.
The main difference between the W21 and the Z Fold2 is that the W21 has a slightly larger body than its “brother”, although the screen specifications and battery capacity are kept the same. This shows that the screen bezel of the W21 is likely to be thicker than that of the Z Fold2. In addition, another change on the W21 is that the device will support 2 sims and add new color options.
Samsung W21 5G has now opened a pre-order program in the Chinese market for 20,000 yuan, equivalent to 70 million dong. This price is significantly more expensive than the 17,000 yuan selling price of Galaxy Z Fold2 in the Chinese market. The W21 will also come with the same premium offerings as the Z Fold2.
