It’s unclear why, but Samsung Galaxy smartphone users around the world have just received a strange notification from the Find My Mobile app. The message is simply 1 and another 1 below. No one understood what happened and why.
The Verge editor also received this notice on the Galaxy Z Flip. After receiving the notice with the content as No. 1, users do not have many options besides closing the notification. And after that nothing happened.
Samsung’s Find My Mobile service allows device owners to remotely locate, lock a smartphone or tablet, back up data from the Samsung Cloud, delete local data on the device and block Samsung Pay access. All can be done remotely, to ensure safety and security if the user has lost the device.
That’s why it’s no surprise that some users of Samsung’s Galaxy devices are in a panic, after receiving the bizarre notice.
“Did someone else get a notification from find my mobile? It almost gave me a heart attack.”
“I just received a notification from find my mobile, and it was astonishing to click and nothing happened, but now I’m feeling a bit scared.”
However it seems that this is only a small accident. And it’s not the first time a smartphone company has made its users shocked. Last year, OnePlus also accidentally sent a text message to users, with content in Chinese characters. Thankfully it turned out to be an error that occurred during OnePlus’s testing.
