Revealed the rear camera design of iPhone 12 Pro, LiDAR sensor is super big

Apple usually kept the design of the camera assembly on the iPhone for two years, before making any changes. We saw last year that the iPhone 11 Pro has a brand new rear camera cluster, with three cameras in a fairly large square module. This year, however, the iPhone 12 will continue to feature a revised camera cluster design.

iPhone 12 will have 4 rear cameras with a well-proportioned design

The recently leaked design shows us the changes of the rear camera cluster on the iPhone 12 Pro and iPhone 12 Pro Max. This design was discovered by Conception iPhone in a test version of iOS 14, leaked last week. After that, many other sources continue to confirm the reliability and confirm the design is 100% accurate.

Based on this design, we can see that the rear camera module of iPhone 12 Pro is still square. Including 4 cameras, including 3 cameras and 1 LiDAR sensor. The main and telephoto cameras are still in the same position, while the wide-angle camera is brought up, balancing with the LiDAR sensor in the lower right.

The LiDAR sensor was first launched by Apple on the iPad Pro 2020, helping to scan the entire surroundings to improve augmented reality. Besides, LiDAR sensor can also help improve the quality of portraits, enhance the effect of removing fonts.

Don’t expect a rabbit-free iPhone 12 and a USB-C port

Unfortunately, this design doesn’t reveal much about the front and sides of the iPhone 12 Pro. However, according to recent sources, the rear camera cluster will be the only design change of the iPhone 12 Pro compared to the iPhone 11 Pro.

That means the iPhone 12 Pro will still have a notch, the front design and the edges will remain the same as the iPhone 11 Pro. There have been reports of Apple trying to remove the notch, but it seems that the technology will not be ready to launch on iPhone 12 this year.

There will also be no new USB-C port to replace the traditional lightning port on the iPhone 12. However, the iPhone 12 Pro and 12 Pro Max will still have USB-C fast chargers, with conversion cables attached.

There will be 4 iPhone 12 will be released this fall

The 6.1-inch iPhone 12 Pro and the 6.7-inch iPhone 12 Pro will be two premium versions, supporting 5G network.

The 5.4-inch iPhone 12 and 6.1-inch iPhone 12 Plus will replace the iPhone 11, won’t support 5G, and will only have dual cameras.

Apple is expected to launch 4 new iPhones 12 in late October, or early November this year, due to the impact of the Covid-19 epidemic.
