Despite several previous battles, Goku’s duel with Yamcha in the desert was the first true martial arts performance of Dragon Ball. Both characters fought hard. Remarkably, the battle ended with Goku being tired of hunger, while Yamcha was still ready to fight.

Before the fight can continue, Yamcha discovers Bulma and is paralyzed by fear. He fled the fight, to give the opponent time to recover. Goku eventually defeats Yamcha in their rematch (which is pretty obvious), but their first fight ends without a real victory.

Show how strong Yajirobe is at the moment: Goku is stronger than Tien Shinhan and fights Tambourine. To be frank, it’s a bit strange how strong this character is. How strong would Yajirobe be if he actually trained, and what would a battle be like between this character and Goku?

In the fight against Frieza, Vegeta’s plan is to make him transform as soon as possible. In return, it’s better to treat this match as a fight. The anime adds a lot of extra details, but in the manga, Frieza transforms right after the two exchange their attacks.

According to the strategy, Prince Saiyan could force Frieza to transform immediately. Basically, Vegeta gives himself, Gohan and Krillin the extra stamina they need to survive the remainder of the battle. Unfortunately for Vegeta, he didn’t believe that Frieza had more than two transformed forms, let alone four.

6. Piccolo vs Frieza

Piccolo spent most of the Namek arc waiting on Kaio’s planet. That’s right because he died before the Saiyan arc ended, but it naturally made some predictions for Piccolo’s inevitable revival. After merging with Nail, his battle with Frieza made a great comeback.

Up to this point, Frieza was stronger than the main cast. While Gohan and Krillin are unable to overcome Frieza, it is clear that they have no other choice. Piccolo not only fought Frieza in a standstill, but also pushed him into transformation, bringing the battle to the next important stage.
