LG Innotek, Sharp and O-Film “carried” the entire order for camera module production for iPhone 12

DigiTimes said three technology companies, LG Innotek, Sharp, and O-Film, will take over production orders for the camera module for Apple’s upcoming iPhone 12 series.

DigiTimes’ revelation also mentioned that Apple will use OLED screens for all iPhone models released this year. The 2020 iPhone series is expected to come in three sizes, including 5.4 inches, 6.1 inches and 6.7 inches. Which will have two models with the same 6.1-inch screen as iPhone 12 Max and iPhone 12 Pro.

LG is said to be offering camera modules for 6.1-inch and 6.7-inch models. LG Innotek is expected to handle about 35-40 million units this year.

As for O-Film and Sharp, both will share modules for 5.4-inch and 6.1-inch models. The two companies are expected to provide around 50-55 million camera modules for Apple in 2020. Of which, Sharp accounts for 60-70% of orders and O-Film accounts for only 30-40% of orders.

As planned, mass production of camera modules for iPhone 2020 will begin in July.
