To continue the Hackintosh series on Knowledge Sharing Blog, today, I will continue to guide you.

how to install bootloader

on the hard drive.

#first. Why install the Bootloader on the computer’s hard drive running Hackintosh?

As I mentioned in the previous post (specifically in the #1 of the article: Some terms that you need to know before installing Hackintosh, we must have a bootloader as a bridge, or in other words an intermediary to be able to boot into the macOS operating system.

After installing macOS on the computer, the first thing we need to do is install the Bootloader on the hard drive. Because if we do not install the bootloader, we will have to boot into macOS via the installation USB.

Not to mention that if you accidentally lose the USB or wipe the USB’s data, you will have to create a new Hackintosh USB to boot back in, which is very inconvenient.

Along with that, the boot speed of the USB will be much slower than the speed of the hard drive, so it will make the booting process into macOS slower.

It is for the reasons above that in this tutorial, I will show you how to install the bootloader on the hard drive in the most detailed and easy to understand way!

#2. How to install Bootloader on hard drive (Hackintosh)

To install Bootloader on the hard drive, we will copy the boot file EFI of the Hackintosh installation USB to the hard drive.

As far as I can see, how to copy EFI of USB to hard drive in my opinion is the fastest, easiest and most convenient.

With this method, you will directly copy the bootloader from the USB you created to install hackintosh to the bootloader partition of the hard drive.

When installing the bootloader on the hard drive in this way, all the data, files, and configuration of the bootloader when copied over will be preserved and you will not have to spend time tweaking them.

And to install the bootloader in this way, prepare yourself the following, do:

Download Hackintool software (latest version): https://github.com/headkaze/Hackintool/releases/tag/3.6.2
