Today (24/2), Huawei has officially launched Mate Xs – its second folding screen smartphone, in an event reported live on the internet. Basically, this is considered an upgraded version of Mate X last year, comes with a stronger hardware configuration, faster and of course also more expensive than Mate X.
The Huawei Mate Xs is still equipped with an 8-inch OLED screen, a resolution of 2480 x 2000 pixels and an 8: 7 aspect ratio like the Mate X. When folded, the screen of the device will be divided into two parts, of which the upper is 6.6 inches with a 19.5: 9 aspect ratio, the lower is 6.38 inches and the 25: 9 aspect ratio.
The phone has a Falcon Wing design (also known as a eagle wing), with a frame made from zirconium-based liquid metal, which is 30% harder than titanium alloy.
Inside, the Huawei Mate Xs has the hardware power of a Kirin 990 5G processor, stronger than the Kirin 980 + 5G Balong 5000 network modem on the Mate X. It is known that the new chipset has a 23% increase in CPU performance. , GPU performance increased by 39% and NPU increased by 460%. Besides, it also saves a lot more electricity than the previous generation.
Mate Xs comes with 8GB of RAM and 512GB of internal memory. According to Huawei, the device supports more 5G bands than the Galaxy Fold 5G, and has faster data transfer speeds than Samsung’s smartphones.
Regarding the camera, the Mate Xs is equipped with a 40MP SuperSensing wide-angle RYYB camera with 27mm focal length and f / 1.8 aperture. In addition, it also has an 8MP telephoto camera with 80mm focal length that supports OIS optical stabilization and has an aperture of f / 2.4. Finally, below the telephoto camera will be a 16MP ultra wide-angle sensor with a 17mm focal length, f / 2.2 aperture and a ToF camera, which will help speed up the focus as well as measure the depth of the image.
The Mate Xs has an ISO level of up to 2048000, a 45x zoom capability (3x optical wide angle and 30x digital), macro photography within 2.5cmm, as well as OIS optical and AIS stabilization.
It comes with a 4500mAh battery, supports SuperCharge fast charging with a maximum capacity of up to 55W. Users can fully charge this phone from 0% to 85% in just 30 minutes, about 2.3 times faster than the Galaxy Fold 5G.
As expected, Mate Xs will be officially launched on a global scale starting next month, with a retail price of 2499 Euro (about 63 million). With this price segment, Huawei Mate Xs is really a formidable opponent compared to Samsung’s Galaxy Fold 5G.
