[00:03] Get thrilling with brand new Windows 10?
And now feel the pain in the ass with Windows Update’s stuck?
Microsoft remix Windows by creating a final OS as OaaS, Windows 10 comes with frequent auto-updates based on users demand.
And it is the requirement to ensure best users experience as well as security safety.
[00:15] Unfortunately, nothing is perfect.
Windows Update of your machine can stop working without clear evidence.
[01:11] In my case, it stuck there for 3 days before I realized something went wrong :(
[01:36] “One of the common problems Windows users come across is an update that gets stuck in the middle of its progress. Updates are important to maintain the latest system features and install new security fixes, but they also can be a headache” – techloris.com
[02:04] This simple workaround may help you.
[02:39] “Note: As unexpected accidents like download stuck, fail to install, restoring your previous version of Windows stuck, data loss, etc can happen at any time during Windows 10 upgrade, we recommend you to create a full back of your PC with EaseUS Windows backup software in advance to protect your system, programs, and personal data” – easeus.com
[03:02] In case it warnings about: “the service could not be stopped or can’t delete files”, reboot Windows immediately instead of mess up something.
[03:35] “- Ability to auto download wsusscn2.cab for ‘offline’ search of updates (like when wuauserv is blocked in the firewall).
– Ability to manually (that is without the use of wuauserv or the windows agent API) download found updates to disk. This is useful when windows updates access to Microsoft servers is blocked” – piunikaweb.com
This tool can work independently with Windows Update so it is a backup solution. Personally, I disabled wuauserv and EventLog services and use WuMgr mainly so that I know which updates will be installed, when to make it happen.
[04:28] “Important: Microsoft has confirmed that there’s indeed a problem that can delete your personal files during the upgrade process. As a result, the company has stopped distributing the October 2018 Update, and it’s recommending users not to proceed with the installation using the ISO file until the problem is fixed” – windowscentral.com
[05:04] “It might seem likely that reinstalling Windows, and then these same exact Windows updates, will cause the same problem, but that isn’t usually what happens. Since most lock-up issues caused by updates by Microsoft are actually software conflicts, a clean install of Windows, followed promptly by the installation of all available updates, usually results in a perfectly working computer” – lifewire.com
Sometime, huge updates like: Cumulative Updates or Service Packs can take hours to complete for old laptops/PCs so you can inspect further hardware signs to see it is working or freezeing. The HDD/SSD light indicator is available widely on laptops/desktops, blinking is a good promise. Alternatively, you can hear the noise from the fan/CPU to know at least it is working hard on executing something heavy like Windows Update.
[06:19] “If you have used Windows 10 for a while, you might have noticed that pressing the F8 or the SHIFT + F8 keys on your keyboard to enter Safe Mode no longer work. These methods stopped working because the Windows 10 start procedure became faster than ever before. However, that does not mean that Windows 10 has no Safe Mode” – digitalcitizen.life
[06:52] “Windows 10 is known for rolling out regular updates to its users and is the most stable Windows OS to date but that doesn’t mean users aren’t having issues with it. From stuck updates disrupting workflow to significantly less storage space, there are many bugs with some simple fixes for them too” – itpro.co.uk
[07:03] Cleanup junk files, fixing registry of Windows 10 are unexpected simple methods to do first of all.
Advanced System Care or even Disk Cleanup utilities can do the job without a glitch!
[07:56] And everything will be fine :”3
