Most of the Dragon Ball warriors have outstanding techniques attached to their names. Here, let’s take a look at 5 techniques that are considered to be the most useful in this series!
1. Body Change
The signature move of Captain Ginyu was first seen in a battle with Goku on the planet Namek. The body swap technique allowed him to become a Saiyan warrior, to trick Goku’s friends in a short amount of time. This technique has many privileges, it gives Ginyu the power of the people he exchanged his body, even if they were many times stronger than him. Not to mention that, Ginyu’s wounds will not transfer from one body to another. The downside of this technique is that it requires him to say: “Change!”.
2. Destructo Disc
Krillin is often thought to be weak due to too many failures. But he should be “trusted” more for creating one of the most versatile attacks in the entire series. If not for Vegeta’s warning, Krillin’s Destructo Disc will kill Nappa, and it will cut through Frieza’s tail.
Other characters have also used the Destructo Disc for their own needs: Vegeta uses it to cut through Meta-Cooler’s arm, Android 18 separates Goten and Trunks when they are disguised as Mighty Mask, Goku has Use the attack to bisect Super Buu and stop him from killing Gohan. Although it has never ended a battle, Destructo Disc has given many characters a chance against superior opponents.
Before Goku awakened the Super Saiyan power, Kaio-ken was one of his best trump cards. It has multiplied Goku’s power many times, and he often uses this attack for a short time against opponents far beyond him. Kaio-ken helped Goku’s Kamehameha overpower Galick Gun from Vegeta in their first battle, and it gave him the speed needed to stop Nappa in mid-air before he could hurt Krillin and Gohan.
Despite being the only one who successfully used this attack, King Kai can teach it to anyone. The main downside is that Kaio-ken causes immediate damage to the user’s body, even many fans claim that using this ability is the cause of Goku’s heart disease.
Depending on the user, this technique has many names and colors, but the way it works the same throughout Dragon Ball Z. Android 17 was used to protect himself from Piccolo’s Hellzone Grenade. Or Future Gohan’s barrier protects him from a series of attacks from Android.
Majin Buu created a barrier to shield himself from a military attack; even King Vegeta used it in a flashback to the past. This technique can be activated without putting too much pressure on the user. As long as the opponent is not Goku, nothing can overcome this defense.
5. Instant Transmission
Although Goku is the first character in the series to show Instant Transmission, many other characters can also use this technique, including Cell, Meta-Cooler, etc. What makes this technique so valuable is that it only requires the user to feel a person’s Ki, and teleport to them in seconds. Instant Transmission can be combined with other techniques to create powerful attacks, the most famous being Goku’s Instant Kamehameha.
