In 2014, at the China Cybersecurity Conference, a 13-year-old boy caught everyone’s attention. That boy is Wang Zhengyang, who is known as China’s youngest hacker. After finding out information about Uong Chinh Duong, netizens were even more surprised.
From a game boy to a programming genius
Uong Chinh Duong started teaching himself programming at the age of 8. By the age of 10, the boy had his own website. Meeting big characters from many walks of life, this boy shows no shyness or fear. Duong himself impressed with the calm image standing on the presentation stage, the boy’s face reflected intelligence and alertness.

It is known that Uong Chinh Duong was born in 2001, in Hai Dien district (Beijing, China). Because his parents are intellectuals, since childhood, Chinh Duong has received a very good education. Unlike other parents, Chinh Duong’s parents are very open-minded and do not interfere in their child’s choices. Chinh Duong’s childhood passed in joy and peace, he could freely play with friends, ride a bicycle, run, jump, climb and swim without being forced to study anything heavy.
One day, Chinh Duong’s father brought home a book called “Fun Math”. After reading the book, Chinh Duong was extremely interested and showed a talent for logic. At that time, Chinh Duong was only 6 years old, but he was able to calculate the answer to the classic “chicken and rabbit in the same cage, counting the number of legs” problem quickly. This means that 6-year-old Chinh Duong has the same computing power as a middle school student. However, Chinh Duong’s parents do not have high expectations because of that. Incidentally, it is this that creates a very good foundation for Chinh Duong to develop.

Chinh Duong’s success is largely due to his parents’ educational style
At that time, China’s Internet industry was booming. Shanda, Netease, Tencent and several large enterprises have invested in the development of online games. In his spare time, Chinh Duong also likes to play games to kill time. In 2009, an online game called Funny Farm become popular nationwide, many young people are immersed in the joy of farming and… stealing vegetables from a neighbor’s house, Chinh Duong is no exception. But after only a short time, Chinh Duong was bored. The boy accidentally touched the F12 key on the keyboard, at which time a series of website codes appeared on the screen.
Seeing these colorful lines of code, Chinh Duong suddenly felt excited. From his father, the boy learned great news. That is, just by modifying these lines of code, one can change the settings of the game. Chinh Duong himself is currently having a bit of trouble with the game account update problem. His father’s words gave the boy hope.
Since that day, Chinh Duong has devoted a lot of effort to self-taught programming. Chinh Duong’s father also bought him a series of different programming books. In the eyes of many people, these programming books are complicated and confusing, but Chinh Duong reads them passionately. After only a few months, the boy had basic programming skills.

On his home computer, Chinh Duong even wrote a small simulation game and generously invited his friends to try it out. Witnessing this scene, Chinh Duong’s parents and teachers were surprised because Chinh Duong seems to have a real talent in programming. To train their son, the Uong family spent money to buy a good computer and hired several professional tutors to tutor him.
Even with a genius, programming cannot be separated from the process of studying and practicing hard, can a child like Uong Chinh Duong really persevere like that? In fact, the worries of those around them are completely superfluous. In studying, Uong Chinh Duong is very conscious. Knowing that his parents didn’t make money easily, the boy quietly decided to build his own career. When he went to school, he only revealed to a few close friends his plan to force himself to work harder.
On the path of programming, the first difficulty that Uong Chinh Duong encountered was English. As he typed in the code, he often encountered many uncommon words. Therefore, Chinh Duong looked up the dictionary and tried to memorize. After a few months, the boy achieved CET-4 (College English Test Band 4 – English proficiency test for university students in all of China), an achievement that many university students also give up. In 2011, Chinh Duong started building his own website. At that time, web work was usually only for programmers, but Chinh Duong perfected it extremely well.
Thanks to these real combat experiences, Chinh Duong’s programming ability improved rapidly. By designing a website, the boy also earns extra income for himself.

Hack the school website because you have to do too much homework
In 2012, Uong Chinh Duong continued to become a phenomenon because of an unthinkable act. Accordingly, in the middle of the night, the boy broke into the school’s web system to correct his grades. It turned out that because he spent too much time on programming, Chinh Duong did not perform well in some subjects and he thought hacking the school’s web would help him and his friends no longer need to do their homework.
Notably, after that, instead of punishing, the school’s leaders paid more attention to Chinh Duong’s talent. The principal was worried that Chinh Duong would get lost, so he met with the boy privately to talk about it. Teacher said: “There are two types of hackers, one is a ‘white hat’ hacker, the other is a ‘black hat’. A white hat hacker is a network security defender, and a black hat is a bad guy who only knows how to make illegal profits. I hope I will become a useful person and contribute to the country.”
Uong Chinh Duong nodded to show that he understood and the principal smiled with satisfaction. In the end, the school only gave a warning to Chinh Duong, but did not give too heavy discipline. Arriving home, Chinh Duong saw his parents – two people always happy and psychologically waiting with a serious face, the boy once again felt insecure.
Chinh Duong slowly walked in front of his parents, and heard them both say: “The more capable the person, the greater the responsibility, the capable person should help others, should not use their ability to endanger social security”. The boy was completely awake.

The computer genius used to… hack the school’s website so he wouldn’t have to do homework
Regardless of the trust of teachers and parents, in 2014, Chinh Duong found a loophole in the 360 company’s library belt plan and publicly complained. This made Chinh Duong attract the attention of many media. At the age of 13, the boy was invited to an Internet conference and met many big men in the technology village.
Get hired by Google even though you haven’t graduated yet
Eight years have passed since that day, Chinh Duong’s life has also changed dramatically. It is known that the boy was then admitted directly to the high school affiliated to Tsinghua University – the top 1 university of China in particular and the whole of Asia in general.

In 2017, Uong Chinh Duong graduated from high school. Instead of choosing to stay in China, he decided to study in the US. Chinh Duong’s destination is Irvine, California (USA) – where many major US and international technology companies gather to continue their studies and improve their knowledge.
It is known that since graduating from high school, Chinh Duong has received many invitations from a number of people major Chinese technology company. But as a result, Uong Chinh Duong declined all invitations because he felt he had a long research road ahead of him.
According to the latest information, last year, Uong Chinh Duong was recruited by Google’s information security department to work part-time with a high salary despite not having graduated from university. Although there are not too many current images of the once computer genius, everyone believes that he will definitely develop and achieve more brilliant achievements in the future.
