Next UFO concept for gamers want to play games everywhere, Dell also brings CES 2020 unique laptop prototypes for ‘people of work’. The unique feature of this duo is finding ways to increase the display area to help users have a more spacious workspace but not increase the size of the product, with 2 approaches that are not the same.
Dell Concept Duet 2 screen
The first product is Dell Duet, as the name suggests, there are 2 screens instead of 1 as traditional laptops.
This product has an idea quite similar to the Microsoft Surface Duo, but with a larger size because each screen is the same size as a normal laptop.
The hinge is similar to the XPS 13 2-in-1.
The two upper and lower parts are made of fairly balanced weight together to create a balance.
Dell Duet has many different uses, such as both to display the same content. For example, the above example shows 2 pages at a time.
When you attach the Bluetooth keyboard, the bottom screen will turn into a touch-pad or secondary screen with a smaller display area, similar to the Asus Zenbook Duo 2 screen!
Dell Concept Ori folding screen
If Samsung has Galaxy Fold, Huawei has Mate X, then Dell has Ori. Ori stands for Origami, Japanese creative paper folding technique.
This product has only 1 single screen, but foldable in the middle to save space.
The panel used is definitely AMOLED, because only AMOLED can be flexible to fold like that. Like Duet, this product opens up many new uses for users, can be used as a normal laptop or opened to use as a large tablet.
The impressive point is that the Dell Ori screen when opened does not create creases! As the picture above we deliberately took diagonally, but the screen was still very flat.
Dell Ori and Duet are both prototype products similar to the Alienware Concept UFO, so the company has not released much more information about the hardware, and whether they will be available for sale.
